Overview
Our US based client is a key player in the Healthcare Industry. The report delivery system created for them is a simple web-based application included in their serials of healthcare products. The purpose of this application is to enable the client to collect information in both text and graphical form that can be used to make a summary of current and previous health levels of a patient for individuals and healthcare agencies.
Technology
The technologies adopted in this project included ASP.NET, C# and Microsoft SQL Server Database in the back-end.
ASP.NET also supports for visual design tools such as Visual Studio and it runs inside IIS, the Microsoft's Internet Server, as a free component with the two Windows Servers, Windows 2000 and XP Professional. It includes the services needed in order to build enterprise-class Web applications with minimal coding.
C# is an object-oriented programming language developed by Microsoft, which is used to develop applications for the Microsoft .NET environment or Visual Studio .NET.
Solution
The client wants the system to organize data from the database to display charts of results as demanded by the user. On the other hand, the end user of this application, mainly healthcare professionals, can view all kinds of reports and charts collected from applications having committed data to the server. We adopted C#.NET, ASP.NET and Visual Studio 2005 in this project. Due to the project's minimal resource requirements, the SDIT team adopted an agile development process to streamline the procedure. Our analysis stage included a great deal of effort to maintain direct communication with the client through all kinds of effectual online communication tools while explanation to the developers was immediate. Moreover, our engineers were extremely proficient in using VS.NET as a development tool. The agile process is much faster than most other processes, but quality was still a priority as SQA monitored and controlled the agile process with the ingrained exacting standards as any other process at SDIT. With excellent human resources combined with the agile process, the project was accomplished with noted efficiency, which surprised our client.
