With a total investment of 2.9 billion Yuan and occupying an area of 1,600 acres, the world's largest data processing center and 3 G R & D center will be built in the Yuhua Science Park in Nanjing.
Nanjing Yuhua Science Park is China's largest science and technology park. The layout of park adopts the principle of "one park, three bases", and the total planned area is about 72 square kilometers which accounts for over half of the whole Yuhua District. In just three years, the park has realized functional segmentation for the development of software industry and service outsourcing industry: annual sales volume of software and system integration has risen from zero to 15 billion Yuan in this area. In Nanjing the park occupies one third of the software market, and 5 billion Yuan is contributed by outsourcing services and it is constantly rising.
Officials of Yuhua District in Nanjing pointed out the reason of choosing Yuhuatai District is for its endowed advantageous geographical position with its ecological environment that can not be copied. Yuhua is located in the main city of Nanjing, and is going to be the west zone of the city, and it is also a rising star in the Jiangning area. In addition, it connects to outside world with three-direction routes, and the South Nanjing Stop of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway is within the Yuhua District which is known as "Asia's largest railway hub station¡±. A recent Forestry Survey proved the "green lung" effect of Yuhua district, 47.9% of which is covered by forest and stay in ahead in the city in this aspect.
"Build a Famous Software City" this is the most outstanding slogan in the annual meeting for investment in major projects in Nanjing, and it shows the city¡¯s high expectations on the software industry. Official of Yuhua said there will be 300 enterprises in the high-tech industry in the park by 2010, who will gain 60 billion Yuan sales revenue of which 30 billion will be from the sales revenue of software and system integration and more than 500 patents in application. It is predicted that 50 enterprises will establish their research and development centers and more than 60,000 people will be employed.
At present, more than 10 software enterprises renowned at home and abroad have set up R & D centers and economy headquarters in the park.
On the other hand, the number of original animation works in Nanjing ranked the seventh in China, so Yuhua Science Park plans to invest 800 million Yuan to build the city's largest animation industry base in the park although the animation industry has just started. This animation industry base covers a area of 57 thousand square meters and the tablet of "National animation industry bases" will also be granted recently.
